Lisbon, Portugal.

Taking a break from the London posts (so.many.photos.to.choose.from), today’s the day to show you a bit of my hometown.

I may be biased but Lisbon is awesome. I frequently like to take the time to actually look at it (kind of like a tourist, really) and absorb all the awesomeness. That’s exactly what I did yesterday. I had a free day so I made plans with my friend Filipa so we could spend the day together.

We went to the flea market in the morning. I always like going there. I don’t think I’ve ever actually bought anything (maybe I did and don’t remember) but it’s fun to go there and see the things that are for sale. Plus, it’s great for people watching. I did see a film camera that I’ve been wanting to buy for a while but it was waaaay too expensive. I think I’ll buy it online!

After the flea market Filipa and I went to a little café called Vertigo to have lunch. We both had bagels+salad and it was the perfect lunch after all that walking.

There was time for the gym because we, girls, like to be healthy (even if we did eat frozen yogurt immediately after the gym haha). And boy, I suffered. I hadn’t been to the gym and worked out for real for a while because I was sick. Well, I’m not sick anymore so I wanted to have a proper workout. I pushed myself really hard… and today I’m paying for it. It hurts to move!

It was a great, fun, tiring day. And it ended perfectly because after all that I went to my sister’s house to celebrate my niece’s 7th birthday. And to meet the new member of our family… a puppy! I’m gonna have to show her off soon. I believe I’m in love.

LDN – First week.

Hey guys!

So, one of the reasons I created this blog was to share with the world some of my adventures. I like to travel A LOT, so when I see an opportunity to go somewhere I usually take it. I caught this “travel bug” about a year ago and though I haven’t been to many different countries (yet) I have seen some spectacular things.

A few of my closest friends live in London at the moment, and I don’t see them that often. In early June we started talking about me visiting them during the summer. I started getting really excited about the idea of spending some time there. The last time I’d been in London had been about 10 years ago. I was 14 and a really cranky teenager. I’m now a cranky adult but I actually value things and experiences.

I booked my flights in early July. I’d spend 15 days in London.

I went to the airport early because I don’t like being stressed when travelling. Also, I absolutely LOVE airports. It’s great for photos (though I try to be discreet) and AMAZING for people watching.

Now, I should explain ahead that when I travel I like to take my time. I like to live like a local. I’m not one of those people that have every minute of their vacation planned out. I understand why other people do it but that’s just not me, at least that’s not how I’ve been doing things until now.

That first day I actually got to the place I was staying at pretty late so all I did was take a shower and rest. Slept like a baby.

And then my adventures began.

Lauren is a friend I met online. I don’t know how long we’ve known each other… but she’s one of the reasons I booked this trip. She’s from the States but had been in the UK for a while so this was the perfect time for us to meet. I honestly never thought we’d actually meet personally, it was one of the most surreal experiences of my life, the first time I saw her. We met in Covent Garden and after giving her the biggest hug ever it was time to talk talk talk and being super overwhelmed by the whole thing. I’m a little shy but she’s the best girl ever so after a while we were like old pals (which we actually were haha internet pals!). We hung out some times which was awesome.

After lunch she showed me around the place. I went to Lush for the first time and fell in love a little. Took lots of photos, because that’s what I do. :p We also went to Camden later that day.

The next photos were taken during several days. I don’t really remember EVERYTHING we did. I just know it was fun eheh. Some days I met up with friends, other days I just wandered on my own.

Shout out to another online friend of ours Sara. I hope our little group all gets to meet personally someday.

Another reason I wanted to go to London so bad was to see my friend Fábio. One of my best, and oldest friends; we’ve known each other since I was 15. He’s been living in London since 2010 and we hadn’t seen each other in a LONG time. It was so good spending all those days with him. You’ll see him quite a bit. He took me to looots of places, we wandered and got lost a lot which was hilarious and fun.

(I assure you I have all 5 fingers.)

And so it begins

Hi, there.

This is my first entry here at everydaystories.net (these are always awkward, imo). My name is Diana, I’m 25 years young and I am a freelance photographer from Portugal.

So here it is. My new blog. I’ve been wanting to make one for a while but for various reasons (lack of funds, personal issues, laziness) I just never got around to it. But it’s here now. High-fiving a million angels!

I’m excited to share my so-called adventures, ramblings, and photos with you.
