Parabéns!

Today’s my father’s birthday.
There’s family, movies and cake. In my book that’s a good day.
Bits and pieces.

I thought I’d show you some parts of my room. This is where I spend most of my time when I’m home. ![]()
Hope your weekend is going great, mine will be somewhat quiet because something tells me that next week will be busy, busy!
Music.

A couple of months ago the guys from Chifre invited me to shoot a show of one of their artists. I’d never heard of Diego Armés nor had I ever listened to any of his music. I can say I was pleasantly surprised.
Street.

Sometimes I like to take my camera with me and just walk around the city, looking at things and observing people. As a photographer I like to be in the shadows. Did that sound creepy? Haha. I like it when people don’t acknowledge me and just go about their business as usual. I like spontaneity.
I’ve been researching a lot of street photography. To take what’s ordinary and make it interesting and visually pleasant, I think that’s an amazing thing to do. Of course, in my case, Lisbon helps as it is full of history and beauty.
Family sunday.

Today was a day spent in family. Playing games (we play bingo with money, very serious business, ok?), eating a lot of scones, drinking tea and just relaxing together. I really needed a day like this, being able to disconnect from all the problems and enjoy the moment.
Sunday brunch.

My best friend, Filipa, and I are foodies. We’re also broke young adults so we can’t go out to eat as much as we’d like. But every once in a while we make time and save some cash to go on an eating spree. We like to try new places as much as we can.
Today we went to Magnolia Caffé for brunch because it was recommended to us. Now just so you understand how much we ate, let me tell you… it’s 9 pm and I’m still not hungry. Yeah.
Honestly the food wasn’t super amazing. I mean, those muffins were the bomb, but some of the other foods didn’t make me go wow. But it’s cheap, and a buffet, so we definitely weren’t complaining. The place itself has a nice feel to it, super relaxed but not especially cosy. There were families, and also big groups of friends. We spent two and a half hours eating and talking (we are talkers, especially when it’s just the two of us).
It was a good sunday morning, but I still haven’t found my go-to brunch place in Lisbon!
Hi
It’s been a while since I’ve updated, I know. Life has been happening.
I didn’t want this blog to become an obligation so I kinda stopped for a while because I genuinely didn’t feel like being online that much. And y’know, life isn’t always so interesting, some weeks just go by without amazing stuff happening… and that’s ok. Some weeks I don’t always want to carry my camera with me (unless I have work or whatever) and I just want to enjoy time with my friends and family without “documenting” what’s going on.
So no. I won’t post everyday. Sometimes I will post once a week. Whenever I have something I feel I have to say/write, I’ll be here. I hope that’s ok.
I also want to make this a little more personal. I hope that’s ok too.
I also hope your year started well. I have a feeling 2012 will be a somewhat crazy year around here, but I’m SO ready for it.
